SPEAKER BIOS - Discussion Panel

Raghu Markus spent two years in India with Neem Karoli Baba and Ram Dass. He has been involved in music and transformational media since the early 1970s when he was program director of CKGM-FM in Montreal. In 1974 he collaborated with Ram Dass on the box set Love Serve Remember. In 1990 he launched Triloka Records and Karuna Music in Los Angeles, California. Triloka established itself as a critical leader in the development of world music and for 17 years was home to such artists as Krishna Das, Hugh Masekela, Walela, Jai Uttal and transformational media projects that featured Ram Dass, Deepak Chopra, and Les Nubians. Currently he is the Executive Director of the Love Serve Remember Foundation and his Mindrolling Podcast is part of the Be Here Now Network. He is also the Producer of two documentaries: Becoming Nobody and Brilliant Disguise- The Samadhi Of KC Tewari.

 

Matt Phillips - Matt Phillips is a music industry executive with 20+ years of experience. Matt is the co founder of Silverback Music who has been the management company and record label of many bands in the American Reggae/Jam music world including Slightly Stoopid, The Marleys, Sublime, Pepper, Rebelution, Denm, Fortunate Youth, Dunpstaphunk, Fishbone, The Meters among others. Aside from artist management and record label Matt has also curated and produced successful music festivals Closer To The Sun in Mexico, Cali Vibes Fest in Long Beach, and Point Break in Virginia Beach. As one of the innovators in the So Cal music scene Matt and his brother Jon continue to break barriers while creating independent space for the artists careers offering full service management and label services allowing artists to maintain their creativity and ownership of their music and live events. 

 

Isaac Sabu is a seasoned professional with a lifelong passion for sound and technology. From an early age, he intuitively utilized sound and music for self-soothing, setting the stage for a career marked by innovation and creativity. His expertise in Sound Technology and the Automation industry has led to the creation of elaborate screening and recording studios, automation systems, and IT infrastructure. Isaac's unique ability to blend various technologies has resulted in the development of innovative solutions and products, including wireless home theater systems, light bulb speakers, and sound-responsive fire pits. A pivotal moment occurred for Isaac at Burning Man 2017, where he constructed an interactive dome featuring a vibrating floor. This fusion of technology, sound, and spiritual experiences ignited his vision for a healing mission through sound and vibration. Over the next two years, Isaac dedicated himself to experimentation and learning, culminating in the development of the BioTune product and service offerings. In recent years, Isaac has honed his expertise in integrating technology for various applications, notably curating bespoke Biotune music experiences. His mastery of product development combined with his innate hosting abilities has resulted in a surge in demand for sought-after Biotune group sessions and retreats in Los Angeles and globally. Isaac also serves as the Sound Designer for Azad, which has received esteemed residency programs at the University of Connecticut Global Affairs Digital Media Residency (2023), Wake Forest University Character and Leadership Residency (2024), and Stanford Residency with Biotune (2024).

 

Kat Walsh, Moderator - Kat Walsh is the Founder & Host of Trip On This podcast, a psychedelic educator, guide, and event host. Featured in prominent publications like Forbes Magazine, Kat's voice has continued to expand and create an accessible bridge for those new to their psychedelic and spiritual journeys. Prior to launching Trip On This in December 2020, Walsh worked behind the scenes in the entertainment industry working with talent at Creative Artist Agency (CAA), developing series as Director of Development at Edyson Entertainment, and overseeing major marketing campaigns for BMW, HBO, and Freeform. While life looked glamorous on the outside, it often felt like a monotony of routine, endless stress, and a distant love that felt out of reach. It wasn't until psychedelics entered the picture did life transform from the ordinary to the extraordinary. Kat has now dedicated her life to helping others uncover their own power and potential. She left the safety of her corporate life to follow a dream and now guides others in taking their own leap of faith. Brandon Deroche founded Propeller in 2015, leading the company with over 16 years of experience creating and leading social impact campaigns for some of the largest personalities in the world, from Lizzo & Justin Bieber to Bon Iver, leveraging their influence and reach to support causes. The digital marketing platform works at the crossroads of culture and social impact, to connect causes with new audiences and drive measurable action. Creating incentive-driven action previously led Deroche to co-found The Urgency Network, where he successfully developed campaigns supporting nonprofits including Greenpeace, Music for Relief, and Oxfam with notable musicians from Sir Paul McCartney to Skrillex and Thom Yorke, and personalities including Sir Richard Branson, David Lynch and Ram Dass.

Michael Strauss - A visionary VJ, digital artist, and event producer from Los Angeles,California, who has been crafting mesmerizing psychedelic audiovisual experiences and immersive environments for nearly two decades. His stunning visuals have brought life to countless events, enhancing the performances of numerous artists and transforming reality through technology and creativity. Michael's work is renowned for its ability to open hearts, lift spirits, and blow minds. Throughout his career, Michael has collaborated with a diverse array of top electronic music producers, DJs, and live bands, including notable names such as The Crystal Method, Paul Oakenfold, DJ Z-Trip, Infected Mushroom, and Dirtwire. His visuals have graced the stages of various arts and music festivals, such as Burning Man, Lightning in a Bottle, and Symbiosis, as well as iconic venues like the Orpheum Theater, House of Blues, and the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Michael's innovative work has led to collaborations with psychedelic legends like Alex Grey and Shpongle. In 2018, he was chosen as the official VJ for the Bicycle Day 75th Anniversary Tour, where he remixed Alex Grey's art. He also curated the "Augmented Visions" exhibition at Grey's Chapel of Sacred Mirrors museum in 2019.
