The District House is a weekly gathering and core benefit of District216. Guests are welcome to arrive for part or all of the evening to meet community members, connect with visiting speakers, and engage in thoughtful conversations across psychedelics, wellness, creativity, and conscious culture. 💜

Interactive Workshop: "Descent to the Underworld, Exploring the Shadow Side"

Description: Mythic figures like Persephone, Inanna, and Hercules all shared one thing, they had to descend before they could rise, and so do we. In this immersive workshop, Dr. Kathy Gruver will guide participants into their own inner underworld through visualization, reflection, journaling, and symbolic exploration, creating a safe and grounded space to meet the hidden aspects of self that have long been avoided, suppressed, or misunderstood. Together you'll explore emotional triggers, fears, and patterns without judgment, reclaim disowned parts of your identity, and begin transforming shadow material into insight, compassion, and personal power. This is not about fixing yourself; it is about meeting yourself fully, because when we are willing to descend, we create the real possibility to rise.

FACILITATOR BIO

Facilitator: Kathy Gruver, PhD, Psychedelic Coach & Mind-Body Medicine Expert

Dr. Kathy Gruver brings a rare depth of training to the intersection of healing, human behavior, and expanded states of consciousness. She holds a PhD in natural health with an emphasis in mind-body medicine, has studied at the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind-Body Medicine at Harvard, and is a graduate of the Third Wave Psychedelic Coaching Program as well as an ACC Certified Life and Executive Coach. Her toolkit spans hypnotherapy, Internal Family Systems, Compassionate Inquiry, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Reiki, giving her an unusually wide range of approaches for meeting people wherever they are. An 8-time author, two-time TEDx speaker, and performing artist with a background in trapeze and aerial silks, Kathy brings warmth, humor, and a deeply intuitive presence to every space she holds.
