SPEAKER BIO

Kyle Nicolaides

Kyle Nicolaides is the author of "Thank God For Depression", former lead singer of the rock band Beware of Darkness, and a healer.

In 10 years of leading the professional rock band Beware of Darkness, he toured the world, amassed 35m streams, appeared on Conan and in Rolling Stone, and had a top five rock hit. Despite all the material and worldly success, he was miserable - deeply depressed and anxious. The confusion of getting everything you want and being totally unhappy was the spark which ignited his search for something deeper, a spiritual path and connection to the divine.

This lead to an major exploration of healing modalities - East and West. He found Ayahuasca, which healed a decade of depression overnight. This lead him deeper on the inner journey - to years of sitting with various plant medicines like Ayahuasca, San Pedro, 5-MEO DMT, Rapé, Psilocybin, and Kambo. In addition, he began to study ancient tantra, practiced TM for a decade in between getting a YTT 200, and taking an EFT course.

He turned his entire healing path of depression and life story into a book called Thank God For Depression - Make Depression The Best Thing To Ever Happen To You. In it he offers radical perspective shifts on depression, and a smorgasbord of paths to healing packaged with hilarious rock band stories. His intention to share his story was to reduce the suffering of others.

All of this work led to singing and performing at medicine ceremonies. He sings in Spanish, Portuguese, Sanskrit, in addition to writing original healing music. Drawing upon intuition, flow states, prayer, mantra, intention, shamanic tools, and sound, he acts as a channel for the divine to heal and guide people on their plant medicine journeys.

He's said the shift from playing in front of 40,000 people for ego to playing in a medicine ceremony for 25 for service and healing has been one of the most meaningful parts of his life.

Now he performs healing music with his partner Marcie, engages in live speaking, is deep in book promotion, and is currently writing his next book.
