Jax Plays Dead is a high-energy Grateful Dead tribute band founded and fronted by singer, songwriter, and guitarist Jackson Gillies—a former American Idol contestant and TEDx speaker known for his soulful voice and powerful stage presence. Born from a deep love for the Dead’s ever-evolving sound, the band channels the spirit of the acid-fueled late '60s and early '70s era, while also weaving in the groove-heavy jams, tender ballads, and danceable rhythms that defined the band’s later decades.

With a lineup that often features two drummers and two guitarists, Jax Plays Dead recreates the sprawling, improvisational soundscapes and electric chemistry that made the Grateful Dead legendary. From psychedelic explorations to tight rhythmic breakdowns, the band delivers an authentic experience that honors the original spirit while bringing its own fresh energy to the stage.

Live Music: The Great Divide: A Tribute to Phish

The Great Divide consists of four California musicians performing the music of Phish.  The band creates original setlists that embody the spirit of live Phish shows while leaving room for new exploration. Phans can expect to hear favorites from every period of the band's 40+ year career.

They have performed all over California including sold-out shows at LA venues such as The Mint and the Moroccan Lounge.  They have performed at several music festivals including Hammerstock and two years at the OC Music Festival. 

The Great Divide will chase down every Antelope, explore every Cavern, and leave no Stash un-dangled as they pay tribute to this extraordinary band.  Taboot taboot!
