2025 By the Numbers (and What They Really Mean)
As 2025 comes to a close, we’ve been taking a moment to zoom out, not just to look at the numbers, but to reflect on what those numbers actually represent. Because behind every event, every ticket, every late-night teardown and lingering conversation… there are people, this community.
This year wasn’t built by algorithms or hype. It was built by humans choosing to show up with curiosity, vulnerability, courage, and care.
And for that, we want to say thank you. 💜
By the Numbers
In 2025, District216 hosted 59 ticketed events, each in service of connection, education, and conscious community.
Across those events, more than 2,600+ tickets were sold, bringing thousands of moments of presence, learning, laughter, and deep conversation into shared space.
But the numbers alone don’t tell the whole story.
They tell us something is working — but what’s really happening is more subtle and powerful… People are hungry for thoughtful dialogue, for spaces that honor both science and spirit, and for community that doesn’t rush to answers, but sits honestly with the questions.
🌿 Evenings at The District House
Week over week, The District House in Santa Barbara has become a living room for the curious.
Through interviews, workshops, screenings, and roundtables, we explored topics ranging from psychedelic science and integration, to art, music, trauma, creativity, intimacy, and meaning.
Some nights were quiet and reflective. Others were electric and challenging. All of them were held with intention.
Breakdown by format:
19 Interviews / Speakers - Deep conversations with researchers, facilitators, artists, and thought-leaders
14 Workshops - Experiential nights focused on embodiment, learning, and personal inquiry
13 Roundtables - Conscious Connections and facilitated group dialogue rooted in listening and respect
4 Screenings - Films and visual storytelling followed by reflection and discussion
The District House holds space for gatherings, reflections, and community moments that don’t always show up neatly in a spreadsheet, but positively impact people’s lives. These evenings are the heartbeat of District216, where trust is built slowly, where regulars and newcomers sit side-by-side, and where conversations ripple far beyond the walls.
🌟 Marquee Events
In 2025, District216 produced 3 Marquee Events, each designed as a large-format, immersive experience bringing together diverse voices, disciplines, and perspectives.
Across these events, 700+ tickets were sold, filling rooms with curiosity, seriousness, and care.
Each Marquee explored a core human theme through multiple lenses:
These events reminded us that it’s possible to scale conversations without diluting integrity, and that there is a growing audience hunger for nuance, responsibility, and depth.
🚀 Off-Site & One-Off Gatherings
In addition to our weekly rhythm and Marquee Events, 2025 included a set of intentional, non-recurring gatherings that expanded District216 beyond its usual containers, geographically, creatively, and culturally.
These events are harder to quantify with a single metric, but they are essential to the ecosystem. They represent experimentation, invitation, and visibility beyond our core walls.
🌍 Off-Site Events (3) - Expand District216 into new cities and audiences
In 2025, District216 hosted three major off-site events:
Psychedelic Playhouse — Denver (Tuesday)
Psychedelic Playhouse — Denver (Wednesday)
Two immersive, back-to-back nights bringing the District216 ethos to a new city and community
Psychedelic Royal-Tea — Las Vegas (MJBizCon Week)
A curated mixer during MJBizCon, designed to bridge the psychedelic, cannabis, and consciousness communities in a thoughtful, human-centered way
These off-site events significantly increased District216’s reach and visibility, introducing the community to hundreds of new people outside Santa Barbara.
🎭 One-Off Events (3) - Culture-building, creativity, and celebration
In addition to educational programming, we intentionally made room for play, music, and artistic expression through three one-off events:
Martian Circus
A music-forward gathering blending psychedelia, performance, and community
Mural Unveiling at The District House
A moment of collective celebration and visual storytelling rooted in place
Grateful Dead & Phish Cover Bands (Saturday Night Show)
A joyful, music-centered night honoring the jam-band lineage that continues to inform District216’s spirit
These events didn’t fit neatly into a weekly or Marquee format — and that’s exactly the point. They helped define the culture of District216, not just the curriculum.
Gratitude, First and Always
None of this happens without you.
To our members: thank you for trusting this container and helping shape it with your presence.
To our speakers, facilitators, and artists: thank you for your generosity, depth, and courage.
To our volunteers, staff, and behind-the-scenes helpers: thank you for doing the unseen work that makes the visible possible.
To everyone who bought a ticket, brought a friend, asked a hard question, or simply sat quietly and listened, you matter more than you know.
District216 is not a brand to consume, it’s our community that we all co-create.
Looking ahead…
As we step into the next chapter, our intention remains clear; to continue normalizing thoughtful conversations around psychedelics and consciousness. To expand responsibly, without losing intimacy. To keep building spaces where people feel safe to be honest, curious, and fully human.
If you’ve been attending from the sidelines…
If you’ve been meaning to get more involved…
If you’ve felt the resonance but haven’t yet taken the leap…
Now is a beautiful time to step in.
Thank you for making 2025 what it was.
We’re just getting started.
With deep gratitude,
Jacob Tell
