BlissIn Out Brings Movement, Music, and Joy to the West Coast
Our courtyard opened up for a different kind of gathering. Guests spread out across the courtyard and parking area in a loose circle, each person holding their own pocket of space, free to move however their body wanted to.
That was the setting for BlissIn Out: Mindful Movement & Music, led by Nika Antuanette, dancer, 200-hour registered yoga teacher, and founder of BlissIn Out. Nika has been bringing her uplifting, grounding blend of movement and meditation to events in New York City and beyond since 2022, and her warmth set the tone from the very first breath. Her instruction flowed from stretch to shake to sway, and everyone found their own version of every movement.
Composer and multimedia artist Jeremy Cone provided the soundtrack, and the music moved in sync with the dance. Each shift in the choreography met a matching shift in sound, which gave the whole session a beautifully organic rhythm. Energy rose and settled like a wave, and the group rode it together.
The experience turned wonderfully interactive when Nika and Jeremy shared some of their original songs and mantras and invited everyone to sing along on the key choruses. Voices lifted across the courtyard, and a circle of individual movers became a choir. The workshop promised to leave people open, lifted, and embodied, and that is exactly how the circle felt at the end.
Our dispensary partner, Canopy, joined us with their offerings, adding to the festive, welcoming spirit of the day.
Nika and Jeremy traveled all the way from New York to share BlissIn Out with our community, and we are grateful they chose District216 as a stop. Their work brings the healing and performing arts together in one joyful experience, which is the kind of connection we love to gather around.
